India is facing one of the worst droughts since last year. Many farmers have committed suicide in the drought affected areas. However, now actors Nana Patekar and Makrand Anaspure are helping drought affected farmers by setting up an organization called the Naam foundation a non-government organization.
Naam foundation was founded by actors Nana Patekar and Makrand Anaspure on September 15th 2015 in Pune. The organization is doing a lot of work for the worst drought affected areas in Marathwada and Vidharbha.
Many politicians and actors discuss the topic of helping farmers, but only few people actually help farmers. Nana Patekar and Makrand Anaspure are few of them who personally helped families of farmers who committed suicides because of drought.
Both of them decided to set up an organization to help the farmers. The Naam foundation got more than 6.5 crore rupees within two weeks.
The foundation isn’t just helping the farmers in terms of money, but they also help them to plant more trees, training and guiding farmers and also setting up various employment options for the farmers.
The organization has offices in Mumbai, Thane, Pune and Aurangabad.
