Sharks are always shown by movie directors as scary monsters attacking humans. But not all species of sharks are harmful to humans even some species in the list of biggest shark species pose very little threat to humans.

The Greenland Shark can grow up to 7.3 m and is one of the largest species of sharks. Greenland shark lives in North Atlantic Ocean. It feeds on smaller fishes and is one of the slowest species of sharks. The shark also acts as a scavenger as remains of various animals like polar bear, reindeer have been found in its stomach. It also feeds on dead decaying animals it also has most toxic meat of all sharks.
3. Great White Shark
The Great White Shark grows over 8 m and can weigh over 3 tons. This shark has no natural predator except the killer whales this shark is distributed throughout the world. The shark feeds on wide range of fishes, seabirds, seals and sea lions. It is also one of the fastest swimming fishes at the speed of over 56 km/hr. Many attacks on humans have been reported in history.
2. Basking Shark
Basking shark grows over 12 m long and can weigh up to 19 tons. It is the second largest species of fish after whale shark. Basking shark is a slow moving species of fish it is a filter feeding shark and feeds on plankton by filtering the water. It doesn’t pose a threat to humans however because of overfishing its population has been decreasing.
1. Whale Shark
Whale Shark is the largest species of fish it can grow over 18 m and it can weigh over 30 tons. It is a filter feeding shark. It has not been a threat to humans as many divers have been close to this fish. Whale Shark has also been kept in captivity in aquariums in many parts of the world.
